Troutman, NC : 6-year-old killed in truck crash Interstate 77 on Thursday January 21 2016

A father was charged when his 6-year-old son was killed in a wreck with a tow truck on Interstate 77 Friday.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 6-year-old Chris Cordial of Statesville was killed in the crash near mile marker 45. It happened around 2:15 p.m.
Troopers say the tow truck was helping a disabled vehicle when a Ford F150 driven by Rosendo Lopez, who was driving too fast for conditions, lost control and struck the back of the tow truck owned by Freeman's Wrecker.
Cordial was in the pickup with his mother, father and 4-year-old sister. Investigators say all three were treated at the hospital after the wreck and have been released. The driver of the tow truck was not injured.
Troopers say Cordial was riding in a car seat at the time of the wreck.
Lopez was taken to the Iredell County jail and charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
