Montgomery, AL : Newton Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash On Highway 231 in Pike County on Wednesday evening, Nov 11, 2015
A Dale County woman was killed Wednesday evening when her vehicle collided with a Brundidge Volunteer Fire vehicle in Pike County.
Joy Bonner, 69, died in the crash that occurred at 6:16 p.m. on U.S. 231 at the intersection of S.A. Graham Boulevard, according to Alabama state troopers.
Bonner's 2003 Toyota Rav4 collided with a 2001 Ford F350 Brundidge Volunteer Fire vehicle driven by Joseph Sonntag, 80, of Brundidge.
A passenger in the Rav4 suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Sonntag and a passenger suffered minor injuries and were transported to Troy Regional hospital.
Troopers continue to investigate.
