A Glasford man was killed early Friday when his vehicle struck a tree in rural Peoria County, according to authorities.
Roger Allen Jr., 45, of 10800 Glasford Road was pronounced dead at 4:12 a.m. at the scene, Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood stated.
An autopsy Friday revealed the cause of death to be multiple blunt-force injuries to Allen’s head, chest and abdomen, according to Harwood. Toxicology results are expected in about three weeks.
Allen was driving east about 2 a.m. on Devils Washboard Road, a few hundred feet east of Strube Road in Timber Township, when his vehicle left the pavement, according to Harwood. Allen was ejected after the driver’s-side door area of his vehicle struck the tree.
The accident took place just southwest of Glasford.
Allen was alone in his vehicle, Harwood said. It wasn’t known if Allen was wearing a seat belt.
Responding to the scene were members of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Timber-Hollis Fire Department.
According to Sheriff Brian Asbell, members of his department are investigating the circumstances.
