LOUISVILLE, KY : 1 dead, 2 in hospital after crash on Bardstown Road on Friday, 25th October 2024

A woman is dead and two men are in the hospital after a crash on Bardstown Road Friday afternoon.

Louisville Police was called to the scene of the crash at 1:10 p.m. Oct. 25. The initial investigation, along with statements from witnesses said that a man was speeding northbound on Bardstown Road northbound when it hit an SUV as it turned off of Bardstown Falls Road.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle, but then SUV had a man and woman in it. The woman died at the scene and the man in the SUV had to be helped out of the truck by firefighters and was taken to UofL Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle got out of his vehicle with no assistance and was also taken to UofL Hospital and is expected to live.

LMPD said the crash caused a large debris field and blocked both lanes of traffic on Bardstown Road. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. LMPD’s Traffic Unit will be handling the investigation.
