Knoxvil;le ,TN : Suspects flee from officers While trying Stolen Suv and Caused crash after SUV hit a pickup truck and wrecked on Wednesday , january 14th 2015

One person is behind bars after Knoxville police say he was in a car that tried to take off from officers and caused a crash.

KPD officers tried to pull over an SUV on Cherry Street near Magnolia. That’s when they say the vehicle took off. Officers chose not to follow the suspect, but moments later the SUV hit a pickup truck and wrecked.

Witnesses say they saw at least two men, possibly three, running from the SUV. Officers spotted one of the suspects hiding under a truck near the crash. They also recovered a stolen .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun and marijuana in the SUV.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Raymond Raymondo Wilson, did not cooperate with police and was arrested for possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana, and leaving the scene of an accident.
