Quincy,MA : 26-year-old Rockland man killed in motorcycle crash on June, Sunday 11th 2017
A 26-year-old Rockland man was killed Sunday morning when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV on the southbound side of the Southeast Expressway, about a half-mile north of Furnace Brook Parkway.
State Police said a 54-year-old Milton man was driving a 2010 Honda Pilot on Route 93 southbound around 9:20 a.m. when his SUV collided in the middle travel lane with a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide driven by a 26-year-old Rockland man.
Bystanders performed CPR on the motorcyclist prior to first responders arriving at the crash, according to Quincy Police emergency radio transmissions.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify him as of Sunday afternoon.
Trooper Michelle Sutherland is leading the investigation into the crash with help from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Quincy Police and Fire Departments, Brewster Ambulance Service, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the state Department of Transportation all assisted at the crash, which had traffic backed up for miles on both sides of the highway.
