LAKELAND, FL : Lakeland teen dies in 2-vehicle crash near Holly Road and East Memorial Boulevard on Wednesday, 1st April, 2020

A Lakeland teen died and two others were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning, according to police.
The crash occurred near Holly Road and East Memorial Boulevard around 12:24 a.m., according to a news release issued by the Lakeland Police Department.Johnathan Joel Acosta, 17, was driving a 2002 Honda Accord eastbound in the inside lane of U.S. 92, known locally as East Memorial Boulevard, when, for unknown reasons, he veered across the center left-turn lane and into the path of a 2017 Jeep Compass driven by 42-year-old Raymond Brian Matt, the LPD said.
The Jeep was traveling westbound in the outside lane of East Memorial Boulevard, and it struck the front passenger side of the Honda, according to the report.
Personnel from the LPD, Polk County Fire Rescue and the Lakeland Fire Department all responded to the crash site, the LPD said.
