Milwaukee, WI : 3 teens held, 3 others sought after car theft, chase, crash near N. Teutonia Ave. and W. Sheridan Ave. on Friday night, June 17, 2016
Three Milwaukee teens were in custody after a stolen car they were in was chased by police and then crashed near N. Teutonia Ave. and W. Sheridan Ave., authorities said.
Three other occupants of the vehicle fled after the Friday night crash.
The incident began at 6:58 p.m. Friday when Brown Deer police responded to a report of people in a vehicle at Brown Deer's Fairy Chasm Park, waving a gun around. When officers arrived, the vehicle took off, heading into Milwaukee. During the pursuit, police learned that the car, a 2002 Dodge Stratus, had been stolen in the city of Milwaukee.
Two of the three suspects taken into custody are age 16, and the other is 17. One had a warrant and one is on probation. One weapon was recovered from inside the car, Brown Deer police said. The teens faces charges of fleeing, carrying a concealed weapon and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, according to a police statement.
