A six-vehicle crash Monday night at an intersection on the border of Desert Hot Springs and unincorporated Riverside County left two people dead and Palm Drive closed through Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The crash, which was reported about 8:30 p.m., occurred near the intersection of Palm Drive and 20th Avenue, according to the CHP.
Palm Drive was closed in both directions between 20th Avenue and Varner Road Monday night, as the Desert Hot Springs Police Department investigated. Doria Wilms, a spokesperson for the department, said the closure will last through Tuesday morning.
According to a Cal Fire tweet, "2 victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene."
