Miami,FL : Driver killed after slamming into Miami-Dade Transit bus and another car on August, Sunday 20th 2017

A driver was killed Sunday after slamming into a Miami-Dade Transit bus and another car, according to police.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday on West Flagler Street and 50th Avenue in Flagami.

The driver, identified as 24 year-old Luisdan Menendez, lost control of his silver Ford Mustang as he headed east on West Flagler Street, police said. The car then entered the westbound lanes and crashed into the bus and a Toyota Corolla.

The bus was carrying about 40 passengers according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.


The driver of the Mustang died on the scene. No one else was injured, police said.

A witness told CBS4 that he was sitting on his patio and saw two cars speed by.

“I looked and thought the drivers crazy,” Carlos Manuel Viera, who lives a block from where the crash happened, told the station. “Then I felt the impact of the crash.”

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
