LAROSE, LA : One died in a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 657 on early Sunday morning July 13th 2014

State police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on La. Highway 657 in Larose.

Trooper Evan Harrell says a 38-year-old man attempted to cross Highway 657 early Sunday morning and was struck by a pickup driven by 32-year-old Elmer Lagos of Galliano.

Harrell says the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office.

The victim's identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
