Plantation, FL: Two dead, motorist sought following fatal crashes in Plantation on Thursday, July 30th 2015
A man and woman died in two pre-dawn crashes Thursday, and police are looking for a light-colored sedan that fled the scene, officials said.The first fatality was Jennifer Catherine Jacon, 37, of Sunrise, who was ejected around 3 a.m. from a Ford pickup. For unknown reasons, the truck veered off of South Pine Island Road near Peters Road, struck a concrete utility pole and spun around, Detective Philip Toman said.Jacon died at the scene; Kallman was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.Relatives of the victims could not be reached on Thursday. Kallman is a son of a Broward Sheriff's deputy, Sgt. Michael Kallman, the agency confirmed.The car that is suspected in the hit-and-run crash will have damage on the left side, Toman said.A debris-strewn stretch of South Pine Island Road
between Peters Road and Southwest Sixth Court was closed to traffic for several hours as investigators reconstructed the crashes and cleaned up chunks of concrete and truck parts.
