Aspinwall,PA : Allegheny Twp. wreck closed Hancock Avenue on June, Monday 5th 2017

A wreck on Hancock Avenue in Allegheny Township shortly after 3:30 p.m. injured three people and closed the road in both directions for an hour, Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers said.

Heavy afternoon rains may have contributed to the crash, which involved a car that slid from the road into a ditch, dispatchers said.

One of the injured crash victims was trapped in the wreckage, emergency crews said.

Emergency crews originally called for a medical helicopter to transport one of the victims, but that call was cancelled, dispatchers said.

Allegheny Township police could not immediately be reached for comment.
