Madison,WI : 14-year-old boy killed in Jefferson County snowmobile crash on February, Saturday 10th 2018

A 14-year-old boy was killed Saturday in Jefferson County when his snowmobile crashed, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash took place at about 6:39 p.m. near County Highway A and Advent Road in the town of Sumner.

The boy, who is from the town of Jefferson, was traveling on a snowmobile trail when he failed to negotiate a turn and went off the trail, Sheriff Paul Milbrath said. Fellow riders and other snowmobilers in the area attempted life-saving measures until emergency responders arrived.


The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office had not released the boy's identity as of Sunday evening.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Department of Natural Resources and the Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
