Three people went to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Parks Highway near Willow Saturday morning, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 9:25 a.m. near milepost 89 of the highway, Alaska State Troopers wrote in a Saturday dispatch. An investigation found that Shawn Rich, 38, of Wasilla, was driving north on the highway in a Nissan Titan and pulling a trailer when he lost control on the icy road.
Rich’s car crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Ford F-250, troopers said. An ambulance took Rich and the driver of the Ford, both with serious injuries, to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
A passenger in the Nissan was also seriously injured in the crash. The passenger was taken by LifeMed helicopter to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, troopers said.
