Marion County, FL : William Boykin, 53, killed in a single car crash in Brevard County on Tuesday, January 6, 2015

A Merritt Island man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a single car crash in Brevard County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said William Boykin, 53, was traveling north on US Highway 1 at the intersection of County Road 502 and veered off the roadway and struck a guide wire attached to a wooden power pole and then crashed into the pole.
Boykin was transported to Wuesthoff Medical Center-Rockledge where he died.
Investigators say Boykin may have suffered a medical condition causing him to lose consciousness and travel off of the roadway.
