Pittstown, NY : 32-year-old Caitlyn Powers died and another injured in motorcycle crash on a rural road in eastern New York on Sunday, Sep 20, 2015

State police say a passenger on a motorcycle has died in a collision with another vehicle on a rural road in eastern New York.

Troopers say the motorcycle was traveling on Route 67 around 1:45 p.m. Sunday when 28-year-old Paul Gervasio of Clifton Park encountered stopped traffic in the Rensselaer County town of Pittstown, 15 miles northeast of Albany.

They say he lost control and crossed into the other lane, where the bike was hit by a Jeep.

Troopers say 32-year-old Caitlyn Powers, also of Clifton Park, died at the scene. Gervasio has injuries that aren't life-threatening. He was treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep and his passenger weren't hurt.
