Zanesville ,OH :Columbus man dies in motorcycle crash on Friday , June 26th 2015

The Zanesville post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Columbus resident on Friday.The crash occurred at 4:36 p.m. and closed a portion of Interstate 70 near the Licking County line.Edgardo Muniz Gonzalez, 30, was driving a Kawasaki EX300 eastbound on the interstate when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, and alcohol is not considered to be a contributing factor.The patrol was assisted on scene by the National Trails Volunteer Fire Department, the Muskingum County Coroner's Office and SRS. The interstate was restricted to one lane during the investigation.The Zanesville patrol post is requesting assistance from anyone who might have witnessed the crash. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 740-453-0541.The crash remained under investigation Friday night.
