Stanfield , AZ :Wrong-way driver dead in I-8 head-on crash on Friday , june 12th 2015

The driver of a wrong-way vehicle was killed after his pickup truck smashed head-on into a car along Interstate-8 west of Stanfield late Friday night, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.Three people were in the car. Two of them were hurt and one of them, the driver, had to be cut free from the wreckage. Both were airlifted with serious injuries to a local hospital.DPS began getting 911 calls of a wrong-way vehicle traveling east in the westbound traffic lanes of I-8 shortly after 11 p.m.Before officers were able to locate the pickup, it collided with the oncoming car.The victim's name is not being released until next-of-kin are notified.
