D'Iberville, MS : Long Beach woman dead after collision with cement truck on Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2015
D'Iberville police Capt. Terry Hines confirmed one person died Wednesday after a head-on collision at 2:45 p.m. on Popp's Ferry Road.
Deborah Barcelona, 61, of Long Beach, died at the scene, said Harrison County Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer.
Switzer said the cause of death will not be made public until after an autopsy because witness reports indicated a medical issue could have led to the crash.
Barcelona was driving a red Buick car, Switzer said, and witnesses said the car slowly drifted into the eastbound lane.
She hit a commercial concrete truck owned by Bayou Concrete, and the truck veered to the right and stopped on the road's shoulder.
Barcelona was alone in the vehicle, Hines said.
