CHARLEVOIX, MI : Charlevoix man injured in motorcycle crash on Wickersham Road between Novotny Road and Ferry Road in Marion Township on Sunday, 21st July 2019

A Charlevoix man was injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash south of Charlevoix Sunday.

According to a news release issued by the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office Monday, the crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Wickersham Road between Novotny Road and Ferry Road in Marion Township.

According to the release, evidence showed that a dog ran out in front of the driver, who deputies identified as Donald Ray Schoof Jr., 64.

Deputies said Schoof attempted to miss the dog but struck it and lost control of the motorcycle. Schoof was wearing a helmet and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
