LAS VEGAS, NV : 1 dead in rollover crash in northeast Las Vegas on Friday, 22nd March 2024

One person is dead and another critically injured following a rollover crash early Friday morning in northeast Las Vegas that left one car split in half. Police said speed and suspected impairment were involved in the crash.

The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m. at Walnut Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan police, Charlie Hernandez, 28, was speeding southbound in a Dodge Challenger on Las Vegas Boulevard when he struck a Hyundai Accent turning from Walnut Road onto the boulevard. The force of the crash caused the Hyundai to separate into two parts and the Challenger to rollover.

Police said the 38-year-old driver of the Hyundai and a 29-year-old passenger in the Challenger were transported to UMC’s Trauma Center. The Hyundai’s driver died from his injuries and the passenger in Hernandez’s car is listed in critical condition.
