LOUISVILLE, KY : Hit-and-run suspect arrested after man found dead on Dixie Highway on Thursday, 16th May 2024

A hit-and-run suspect was taken into custody after someone was found dead on the road in Pleasure Ridge Park.

Louisville Metro police officers were called on Thursday just before 3:30 a.m. to the 7800 block of Dixie Highway. They saw the body of man lying on the roadway and witnesses told them a car hit the victim and left.

The LMPD 3rd Division said information from the witnesses helped find the suspected driver. He has been identified as 27-year-old Kevonte Liwain Mitchell.

Louisville Metro police said Mitchell was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and failure of owner to maintain insurance. He was booked at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
