DIAMOND BAR, CA : Whittier teenager killed in 60 Freeway crash on Monday, September 4, 2017

The coroner’s office identified the driver killed in a solo crash on the 60 Freeway, south of the Diamond Bar Boulevard on-ramp, as a Whittier teen.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner’s office, said 17-year-old Handsome Hernandez died at the scene at 4:46 a.m. Monday.

The fatal crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 4:28 a.m.

A 2005 Honda Civic heading westbound on the 60 Freeway drifted to the right and went across the Diamond Bar Boulevard onramp, according to a statement from the CHP. The car struck a tree.
