Revere, MA : Driver charged in Revere crash that killed 5-year-old girl, injured 4 other on Monday, 10th December 2018

The driver of an SUV that veered off a road in Revere on Sunday evening, fatally striking a 5-year-old girl, critically injuring an infant, and hospitalizing three other pedestrians, was ordered held on $10,000 bail Monday in Chelsea District Court.

Autumn Harris, 42, of Beacon Hill, was arraigned on charges of motor vehicle homicide and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She was ordered by the court to remain drug and alcohol free if she posts bail, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office.

Authorities say Harris was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox on Route 145 just before 5 p.m. on Sunday when she drove off the road near North Shore Road, striking a group of five pedestrians — the 5-year-old girl, the infant, two adult women, and a toddler — who were waiting on the sidewalk inside the median strip to use a crosswalk.
