Both drivers needed medical attention after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 45 near the southern edge of Coles County on Wednesday morning.
One driver, Christopher J. Moritz, 64, of rural Neoga was also ticketed for disobeying a stop sign, according to a report from the Coles County Sheriff's Office.
The report said the accident took place just before 9 a.m. Wednesday when Moritz was eastbound on County Road 100N and failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. Route 45.

Moritz's pickup truck then hit a sport utility vehicle driven by Christine H. Hoene, 20, of rural Sigel, which was northbound on Route 45, the report said.
The report said Hoene had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, after the accident. She was still hospitalized there and listed in fair condition on Thursday, according to a Carle representative.
