Yuma, AZ : Rider in fatal motorcycle crash on I-8 identified on Monday, 16th April 2018

The man who died in a motorcycle accident Monday afternoon on Interstate 8 near Dateland has been identified.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the man killed was Eric Thorsgard, 45, of Anthem, Ariz. According to DPS spokesperson Bart Graves, the crash between a motorhome and a motorcycle happened at about 3:10 p.m. near milepost 71. Graves said the investigation into the accident revealed that the driver of a white 1994 Chevrolet motorhome was merging onto the right lane of Interstate 8 from the emergency shoulder and inadvertently pulled in front of a black 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
