Boulder,CO : Boulder coroner IDs two people who died in U.S. 287 crash on April, Monday 30th 2018
The Boulder County coroner today identified the two people killed when their truck was in a two-car crash on U.S. 287 on Monday morning.
The driver of the truck was identified as Jeanni Nunn, 40, of Lakewood, while the passenger in the truck was identified as Christopher Chavez, 44, of Thornton.
The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. Monday on U.S. 287 between Isabelle and Arapahoe roads, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis.
Lewis said investigators believe a 1997 Ford pickup driven by Nunn was headed northbound on U.S. 287 when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2007 Mazda minivan.
The crash caused the truck to roll over. Chavez was declared dead on scene, while Nunn was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette but later succumbed to her injuries.
Lewis said neither of them were wearing seat belts.
The lone occupant of the van, a 56-year-old woman from Longmont, was also transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center with serious injuries.
Lewis said the case remains under investigation, adding that investigators are looking into the possibility that Nunn was under the influence of drugs.
