Fort Wayne,IN : Motorcycle rider in fatal crash on August, Sunday 20th 2017

A 35-year-old Fort Wayne man has been identified as the victim of a Sunday evening motorcycle crash in northwest Allen County, the county coroner's office said today.

Blake D. Shafer died from blunt force trauma because of the accident, the coroner's office said in a statement following an autopsy.

His death is the 25th fatal motor vehicle crash in the county this year, the statement said.

It said Shafer was riding at Yellow River and Butt roads about 6 p.m. when the crash occurred.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The crash remains under investigation by county police, the county prosecutor's office and the coroner's office.
