Five people were injured Tuesday night in a head-on collision between two vehicles on Route 133 at the Hyde Road intersection at about 6 p.m.
Cassidy Packard, 17, of Dixfield was driving north on Route 133 when she tried to take a left turn onto Hyde Road and failed to yield the right of way to a Jeep driven by Scott Holmes, 51, of Dixfield, who was heading south on Route 133, Police Chief Richard Caton IV said Wednesday.
The Jeep rolled onto its roof and the car spun out of control and went into a ditch, he said.
Packard and her two passengers, Michael Packard, 15, of Dixfield and Alexis Hailey, 16, address not immediately known, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, Caton said. All three were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
Holmes and his passenger, Jennifer Holmes, 42, of Dixfield complained of pain. Both were expected to go to a hospital with a family member, Caton said.
The collision was still under investigation.
