Albemarle County police have identified Gary W. Shifflett, 64, of Crozet, as the man killed Monday in a single-vehicle crash on Garth Road.
Police said Shifflett’s pickup truck was headed west on Garth when it went off the road just past Lake Albemarle Road and struck a tree.Family members said Shifflett retired in 2015 after 36 years as a carpenter with the University of Virginia Facilities Management Department.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at Mount Moriah United Methodist Church in White Hall.
