Great Falls, MT : Three teens died, 1 injured in a rollover crash on U.S. Highway 87 in Judith Basin County on Wednesday, Aug 19, 2015

Three teens died Wednesday in a rollover crash in Judith Basin County.

The sport-utility vehicle they were in left the highway Wednesday morning, rolled and ejected all four occupants, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 5:34 a.m. at mile marker 48 on U.S. 87 between Windham and Moccasin, the MHP said.

The SUV was eastbound on U.S. Highway 87, went off the road to the left, crossed over to the north ditch, vaulted off the road and flew about 300 feet, MHP Trooper Joe DeJong said. It began to roll and ejected all four occupants.

He said all of the occupants, two boys and two girls, were between 14 and 18. The two female occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two males were taken to Benefis Health System. One of the teens was taken by Hobson Ambulance and one by Mercy Flight.

DeJong said he was told Wednesday afternoon that one of the male occupants had died.

The girls were identified as Krissy M. Oset and Cora E. Meckel, both 14 and of Roundup, said R.J. “Dick” Brown, deputy coroner for Judith Basin County.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the teen boy, who is 17 and from Billings, was not released.

None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt, DeJong said.

No further information was immediately available.

Judith Basin County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner, Hobson Ambulance and Fire and MHP responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol and the Judith Basin County Sheriff and Coroner.
