Liberty, ME : Surry woman injured in Waldo County crash on Monday afternoon, March 7, 2016
A Surry woman had to be airlifted to a Bangor hospital after a crash Monday afternoon in Waldo County.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said 22-year-old Taylor Higgins was driving along Route 3 in Liberty around 4 p.m. when she lost control of the 2003 Saturn she was driving due to slush on the shoulder of the road.
The car went off the road, hit a tree, rolled over and ended up in the ditch. Both Higgins and her passenger, 22-year-old Tasia Whittier of Bath, had injuries that police described as serious but not life-threatening.
Both women were flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center. Information about their conditions was not immediately available from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
