Golden Glades, FL : 1 arrested after suspected stolen car crashed, ditched in Golden Glades on Wednesday, 5th June 2024

A teen was taken into custody after a stolen Camaro that fled from police crashed and was ditched in Golden Glades on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The incident began shortly after 3 a.m. when officers attempted to stop a black Chevy Camaro that had been reported stolen out of Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade Police officials said.

The Camaro fled and crashed into the fence of the home, where the occupants took off on foot, police said.

The investigation brought out a large police presence, including a helicopter, to the site of the crash at 65 Northwest 135th Street.

Aerial footage showed the Camaro crashed into the fence outside the home.

Police said they set up a perimeter and took one person into custody. He was identified as a 17-year-old.

A passenger was still at large, police said. The incident remains under investigation
