Man Killed In Fallbrook-Area Motorcycle Crash

A 36-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Fallbrook on Sunday.The man drove a 2010 BMW s100 motorcycle southbound on Del Luz Road just north of Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base about 11:20 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said.According to witnesses riding with the victim, he was traveling about 50 mph when he entered a curve in the roadway and failed to turn. The driver crashed head on into a tree and died at the scene, Bettencourt said.Officers were investigating and it was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the fatal crash.
