A car wreck in northeast Colorado Springs Tuesday morning sent three people to the hospital, including one woman with life-threatening injuries, Colorado Springs police said Police said a 2000 GMC Jimmy slammed into the back of a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan that was stopped at a light at the intersection of North Marksheffel and Woodmen roads shortly before 11 a.m. The collision sent the caravan spinning into a Honda van, also stopped at the light. The Caravan's driver, a woman whose name was not released, was admitted to the intensive care unit at Memorial Hospital Central, police said. The two other drivers were treated and released. Condition updates were not available Tuesday night. The crash shut down westbound lanes of Woodmen Road for about an hour. According to police, the GMC's driver, a woman whose name was not released, was cited for careless driving, and may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
