Quincy, IL : Semitrailer driver cited after Quincy crash on Monday, 7th May 2018

A Quincy semitrailer driver was cited for failure to yield after a crash Monday morning in Quincy.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said a 2012 Freightliner Coronado driven by John J. Cosgrove II, 56, was crossing Wismann Lane from a private drive at 6:41 a.m., attempting to enter another private drive about 200 feet east of North 36th Street, when it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Kasey R.M. Gooding, 27, of Quincy.

Gooding was taken by the Adams County Ambulance Service to Blessing Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Traffic was shut down on Wismann Lane for about 45 minutes as the scene was cleaned up.

Police said both drivers were wearing seat belts.
