APPLE VALLEY, CA : Pedestrian killed in Halloween night crash on Tuesday, 30th October 2018

Authorities said a man died after he was hit by an SUV on Halloween night.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials are still investigating the crash, but said speed or alcohol are not considered factors. The crash occurred at the intersection of Bear Valley and Central Roads at 7 pm.

Officials said the man, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was crossing Bear Valley Road in the southbound lane when he was struck by a 1999 Chevy Suburban headed east.

The man was not using the crosswalk and the driver was unable to stop before striking him, officials said.

Paramedics arrived and flew the man out to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with severe head injuries. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.
