Erie, PA : Man dies from injuries in Millcreek Township crash on Peach Street on Friday afternoon, February 17, 2017
A 67-year-old Erie man died from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle crash that closed a portion of Peach Street in Millcreek Township Friday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. on Peach Street at the intersection with West Grandview Boulevard.
Police said the man was extricated from a vehicle and taken to UPMC Hamot, where he died. Police did not release the victim's name pending notification of family.
Police said a Chevy Monte Carlo traveling south on Peach Street collided broadside with a Ford Focus heading east from the stop sign at West Grandview Boulevard.
The victim was driving the Ford Focus, police said. The driver of the Monte Carlo is an 18-year-old Erie man, police said.
Police shut down both northbound and southbound traffic on Peach Street between West Grandview Boulevard and Chestnut Hill Drive for about an hour and a half. Both lanes were reopened to traffic at about 4:05 p.m., police said.
