Martinsville, VA : Ferrum man dies in single-vehicle crash on April, Wednesday 12th 2017

A Ferrum man died in a single-vehicle crash on Virginia 864 in Franklin County on Wednesday evening, state police said.

A 2008 Dodge Caliber was westbound on Virginia 864, about two miles west of Virginia 756 near Ferrum, when it ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver, Sgt. Rick Garletts said.

The driver, David Wayne Hale, 38, died at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
