Wabash, IN: 12-year-old Newport girl died another injured in Vermillion County crash on Wednesday, August 5th 2015
A 12-year-old Newport girl has died in a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of old Indiana 63 and U.S. 36 in Vermillion County.Vermillion County Sheriff Mike Phelps reported just minutes ago that the girl was a passenger in a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer driven by her mother, 29-year-old Brittany Pribble, of Newport.Pribble was driving east on U.S. 36 when she turned north onto County Road 360 east into the path of a westbound Roskovensky Concrete truck driven by Michael.Hillyer, 58, of Clinton. The girl's name has not yet been released by police.The girl was transported to Union Hospital at Clinton, where she was pronounced dead.Pribble and another passenger, her 4-year-old son, were also transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Truck driver Hillyer was not injured.Phelps reports that the 9:53 a.m. crash remains under investigation.
