RapidCity, SD : A vehicle-ambulance crash on Monday, August 28, 2017
After two paramedics suffered minor injuries Monday in a vehicle-ambulance crash, Rapid City authorities are asking drivers to mind those words when they see the flashing lights and sirens of emergency vehicles.
"Where reasonably possible, pull to the right and stop when you see flashing emergency lights or hear a siren," the Rapid City Fire Department wrote. "Come to a complete stop and wait until the emergency vehicle has passed."
A release from the Rapid City Police Department said the ambulance was westbound on Omaha Street at about 11 a.m., with its emergency lights and sirens activated. At the intersection of Omaha and Fifth streets, there were several vehicles stopped in the through lanes of traffic.
