Haverford,PA : One hospitalized after serious crash on Township Line on June, Wednesday 21th 2017

Police are investigating a serious accident on Township Line Road between Greenview and Foss streets Wednesday.

One person was taken to Lankenau Hospital for serious injuries following the collision which happened about 4:45 p.m. Following the accident, one driver then wandered from the scene.

No identities were released.

Haverford Police Chief John Viola said the driver of Henderson Plumbing truck was hit head-on by a box truck traveling northbound that lost control. The driver of the pick-up truck then rear-ended the Henderson truck. That driver fled the scene for an unknown reason. He was reported to be bloodied, police said.

Both Haverford and Upper Darby Fire companies responded to the collision for the report of a driver trapped.


Atif Sami said he heard the accident in his nearby apartment on Township Line. He said there have been numerous accidents along that stretch of Township Line, including one late-night accident when a motorist hit 14 cars.

In September 2016, a 69-year-old man Haverford man was killed in a crash about 1 mile south on Township Line Road when he was hit by a driver who was charged with driving under the influence of the anti-anxiety drug Alprazolam and traveling at nearly triple the posted 35 mph speed limit.

Township Line Road was closed through rush hour while police investigated the accident.
