Tupelo , MS : Car crashes into Costume World then ran off-road and driver was injured at Crosstown on Monday , December 22nd 2014

Around 7:20 p.m. Monday, a Toyota Camry, traveling north, ran off-road, clipping the edge of the Money Now Cash Advance building and crashing into the south side of Costume World on Gloster Street at Crosstown.

The name of the driver has not been released. The driver was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center after Tupelo Fire Department put out the flames from the engulfed car.

Local 911 calls came in from Verona about a Toyota Camry traveling at high speeds through town. Tupelo Police Department had visual on the car just before the vehicle went off-road and into the two businesses. No one was injured inside either storefront.

The incident is under investigation.
