Greentown, IN : Four people injured in a car crash in Howard County on Sunday, Oct 11, 2015
A State Trooper was among four people injured in a car crash in eastern Howard County Sunday night.
State Police confirmed a two-vehicle crash happened on SR-22 near County Road 1050 E, east of Greentown around 6:15 p.m.
Trooper Corey Posey, 23, was driving a police car westbound on SR-22 when a Honda passenger car sideswiped him. The other car rolled at least twice before coming to a stop in a grassy area off the north side of SR-22. Trooper Posey came to a rest in a ditch, also on the north side of SR-22.
Trooper Posey was treated for a cut to his head at the hospital, then was released. All three occupants of the other car -- 53-year-old Robert Jackson of Winchester, 55-year-old Jamie Byerly of Ridgeville and 36-year-old Brandon Byerly of Muncie -- suffered serious injuries, but are expected to be okay.
No word which of the three was driving the car at the time.
The crash is still under investigation, but preliminary evidence shows the trio in the Honda had alcohol in their system.
Posey has been a trooper since December 2014.
