Cleveland, TN : Bates Pike accident on Tuesday, June 20, 2017

TRAFFIC?WAS?BLOCKED in both directions after a dump truck hauling dirt overturned on the roadway on Bates Pike, near the intersection with McClanahan Road. The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The driver was identified as Matthew Wade Morris, 34, who the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office reported did not have a Commercial Driver’s License to operate the vehicle. Further investigation led to the discovery Morris had an active warrant for misdemeanor violation of probation, and had been charged with possession of Schedule II drugs for resale. He was arrested at the scene of the accident by BCSO deputies. The shutdown of Bates Pike occurred so repairs could take place there, and to clean up leaked diesel fuel from the wreck.
