LELAND, NC : One person dead after head-on collision in Leland on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

Officials with the State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal head-on collision in Leland Tuesday evening.

According to Trooper Ryan McDermott with the State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 5:41 p.m. at the intersection of Mount Misery Road NE and Dogwood Road NE when one vehicle was driving on Mount Misery Road and ran over the median hitting another vehicle head on.

The person who hit the other vehicle head on died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was sent to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. No word on their condition.
