ACCOMACK COUNTY, VA : Fatality reported in crash involving pedestrian on Thursday, 13th April 2023

A mother was hit by a car and killed while teaching her young daughter how to ride a bike in Accomack County on Thursday night.According to Virginia State Police, Erika Cherrelle Bailey, 26, and her boyfriend, Duane Lee Turner, 39, were teaching their 6-year old-daughter how to ride a bicycle on Nocks Landing Road in the town of Atlantic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12. While they were out, they were hit by a 2021 Honda Pilot SUV.

Bailey was killed on impact.

Turner and his daughter were seriously injured and taken to Tidal Health Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland.
