Toledo, OH : 85-year-old Temperance man killed in pickup truck accident on Sunday morning, July 24, 2016

A Temperance man was killed this morning in an accident involving his pickup truck.

Milton Juers, 85, was at his home in the 100 block of Smith Road around 11:30 a.m. when he began backing his 2001 Dodge pick-up truck with the driver’s side door open, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Mr. Juers, who was not wearing a seat belt, fell from the truck, which kept moving, first hitting him and then coming to rest against a utility pole.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
