A five-vehicle pileup on Interstate 84 sent a California resident to the hospital Monday night, police said.Idaho State Police said the crash at about 7 p.m. started when Marquis Benson, 18, of Twin Falls, slowed down his 1989 Chevy C2500 pickup in an eastbound lane because of the weather near milepost 168.ISP said that there were high winds and dust blowing in the area.The back of Benson’s truck was struck by Charlene Veatch, 67, of Twin Falls, who was driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta, ISP said.The Fiesta was then hit by Robert Veatch, 66, of Twin Falls, in a 2015 Ford Focus, which was hit by Jamie Russell, 35, of Lake Isabella, Calif., in a 2001 Honda Accord.
Finally, Kimberleigh Otter, 38, of Boise, hit Russell’s car with a 2009 Dodge Caravan, ISP said.Russell was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. ISP said it was unknown if Russell was wearing a seat belt. The other four drivers all were.One lane of the eastbound freeway was closed until about 9 p.m.
